The Xbox Mini Fridge is a refrigerator released to the public in December 2021.[1] The design of the fridge is based off of the Xbox Series X. It will fit approximately ten standard-sized cans inside.
Design[]
The mini fridge appears very similar to the larger Xbox Series X Fridge which was used as a marketing stunt prior to the consoles release. The design comes from countless memes that were created not long after the Xbox Series X consoles announcement in 2019 that compared the design of the console to a refrigerator. The memes involved images of kitchens with an Xbox Series X photo-shopped in place of where the refrigerator would usually be. This made many begin to imagine the reality of having a real life Xbox Series X fridge.
Prior to the Xbox Series X and S's announcement, full sized Xbox Series X fridges were given out to select people as well as one being given away in a Twitter sweepstakes. As many missed out on the opportunity to own a unique piece of Xbox history, people began to ask of the possibility of an Xbox Series X mini fridge.
The mini fridge uses the same design as the Xbox Series X, with the front of the console acting as a door. From the announcement video, it is seen that the fridge will have three shelves and be able to hold approximately ten standard sized cans inside, as well as having green lighting on the inside.

Xbox's journey to winning the Best of Tweets Brand Bracket
During April 2021, Twitter held a #BestofTweets competition with a variety of different brackets. The Xbox Twitter account was a part of this competition that participated within the brand bracket. Different brands competed against each other and users were able to vote for their favorite brand to move on to the next round. Xbox was able to make it to the final round against other brand, Skittles.
In order to gain more votes to win the competition, general manager of Xbox Games Marketing, Aaron Greenberg promised users that if Xbox were to win the bracket, they would put Xbox Mini Fridges into production for the public to purchase.

In the end, Xbox was able to win the competition by the narrowest of margins and it was confirmed that the mini fridges would be put into production.
Announcement[]
The Xbox Mini fridge was be unveiled two months after they were promised by Aaron Greenberg. As Phil Spencer entered the stage during the 2021 Xbox & Bethesda Games Showcase, he revealed that there would be one more game to be shown. The game shown was Redfall, a new Xbox exclusive co-op, open-world first-person shooter from Arkane Austin. After the trailer concluded the typical, "Thanks for watching screen!" was put up to inform viewers that the show had ended. However this was not the case.
Not long after, another video began to play that seemed to be the Xbox Series X World Premiere Trailer, this was not the case as the Xbox Mini Fridge was shown to the world for the first time. Described as "The World's Most Powerful Mini Fridge" that uses Xbox Velocity Cooling Architecture. The trailer concluded with a release date of Holidays 2021.
After being uploaded to the Xbox YouTube channel, Xbox Mini Fridge - World Premiere amassed one million views in it's first twenty-four hours of being up.
