The Xbox Design Lab is a controller customization program that was first announced by Microsoft at E3 2016. The program allows the user to create their own Xbox One controller using a wide variety of color options.
On October 14, 2020, the service was paused so that production could focus on the then-upcoming Xbox Series X|S.[1] It was announced during the Xbox Games Showcase Extended on June 17, 2021 that the service would return.[Citation needed] The 2020 Xbox Wireless controller is used for all Design Lab controllers, with all of the same customization options as before.
