The Xbox 360 HD DVD Player is an accessory for the Xbox 360 that allows the user to play HD DVD discs from their console. The accessory was released in November 2006 and discontinued only two years late in 2008 due to the discontinuation of the HD DVD format. It was initially sold for $199 and is now seen only as a collectors item due to the format it is based around now being obsolete.
