Music[]
The music for Halo Infinite is a collaboration between Alex Bhore, Gareth Coker, Curtis, Schweitzer, and Joel Corelitz, overseen by 343 Industries music supervisor Joel Yarger.[1][2][3][4]
Announcement[]
The game was first unveiled during the opening to the 2018 Xbox E3 briefing, with a release date being unknown. Halo Infinite would be the third chapter in the Reclaimer Saga, and would focus on the Master Chief and continue his story following the events of Halo 5: Guardians. It has been described as a "spiritual reboot" for the franchise.
In 2019, another trailer for the game was released at E3. The trailer revealed some details about the story of the game as well as a new character.
During July 2020 in the Xbox Games Showcase, more details including gameplay were shown of the game. It was revealed that the game would be open world and include a day/night cycle as well as the ability to upgrade equipment.[5]
A new feature shown off during gameplay was the grappling hook. This tool can be used to help the Master Chief traverse the open world as well as pick up items to throw at enemies.[6]
Other things shown during the Xbox Games Showcase included new weapons, combat and more details on the story.
The gameplay shown at the event was criticized by some for its poor graphics and flat textures.[7] However 343 Industries clarified shortly after the event that the gameplay shown was from a much earlier build of the game, meaning that a lot may change between the event and the games launch.[8]
