Forza Motorsport 7 is a racing video game developed by Turn 10 Studios and published by Microsoft Studios. The game was released for Windows and Xbox One on October 3, 2017. It is the tenth installment in the overall Forza series.

On September 15, Forza Motorsport 7 and all of its downloadable content was delisted from online storefronts and removed from Xbox Game Pass due to expiring licenses.[1][2] Users that had purchased DLC for the game while playing it through Game Pass were gifted the standard edition of the game for free.[3]

Gameplay[]

Forza Motorsport 7 is a racing video game released in late 2017. The game features over 700 cars and more than 200 different configurations to race on across 32 locations at the games launch, including all of them from Forza Motorsport 6; a fictional street circuit in Dubai is one of the new circuits and several tracks returning from Forza Motorsport 4 including Maple Valley Raceway, Mugello Circuit & Suzuka Circuit. Two features that are new to the Motorsport title include dynamic weather (previously seen in Horizon titles) and customizable drivers.

Development[]

Forza Motorsport 7 is being developed by Turn 10 Studios. The game was developed alongside the Xbox One X console, with Turn 10 providing the Xbox hardware team with feedback. In mid-January 2017, the Xbox hardware team supplied Turn 10 Studios with a prototype Xbox One X system. Turn 10 was able to get their Forza Tech demo running on the system within two days after receiving the prototype console. The game will run at 4K resolution and 60 frames per second, while running at 1080p at 60 frames per second on the base Xbox One models.

The game will not feature any Toyota production road cars due to licensing issues. Only the company's race cars will be featured in the game.

Release[]

Forza Motorsport 7 was officially announced on June 11, 2017 at Microsoft's press conference during E3 2017. The 2018 Porsche 911 GT2 RS was revealed alongside the game as part of a six-year licensing deal between Microsoft and car manufacturer Porsche. The game is scheduled to launch on Windows 10 and Xbox One which includes the entire Xbox One family of consoles, which will later include the Xbox One X on October 3, 2017

Reception[]

Forza Motorsport 7 received "generally favorable" reviews on Metacritic garnering a metascore of 82/100 on PC[4] and 86/100 on Xbox One.[5]
