Doritos Crash Course 2 is a platformer video game released for free on Xbox Live Arcade for the Xbox 360 on May 8, 2013. The game was developed by Behaviour Interactive and published by Microsoft Game Studios and is the sequel to the 2010 Xbox Live Arcade game Doritos Crash Course.
Gameplay[]
Like the first game, players control their avatar across a variety of different obstacle courses, competing for the best time against other players. Players can compete against other players online or up to four friends locally.
The game introduces four new worlds (Amazon, Antarctic, Egypt, and Pirate Island) each with five unique courses. Unlike the first game, players must collect stars which can be used to unlock more levels and buy power-ups and effects that change avatars' appearance in-game.
Delisting[]
In April 2014, it was announced that servers for Doritos Crash Course 2 would be shut down on October 15th, 2014. The game would remain available to download on Xbox Live Arcade up until April 24 when it was removed from digital storefronts.
Despite being delisted, the game would “remain unchanged and playable” other than the removal of Coin Packs, an in-game currency purchasable with real money. The statement concluded by stating that “players with unspent coins can purchase in-game consumables but will be unable to purchase Coin Packs”. As a result of the game's closure several achievements are now unobtainable following the closure of the game's servers on October 15.
